Current State Representative Rick Hayes Endorses Stewart

Putnam- Northeastern Connecticut Republican Chris Stewart, elected to the Putnam Board of Education last November, has announced he is seeking the office of State Representative in Connecticut’s 51st General Assembly District. Current State Representative Rick Hayes, recently announced that he will not be seeking reelection in the district which includes the towns of Killingly, Putnam, and Thompson.
“We all extend our deepest gratitude to State Representative Rick Hayes for his unwavering dedication and years of exceptional service to our great state,” said Stewart. “Representative Hayes leaves behind a legacy of commitment and hard work that has significantly contributed to the betterment of our community, and has inspired me to follow in his footsteps of service to our community.”
Born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut, Chris pursued his education at Nichols College, earning a bachelor's degree in business administration and criminal justice in 2011. Over the last 12 years, Chris has dedicated his professional life to the human service sector. Currently serving as a financial coordinator for a local human services organization, he oversees programs that provide crucial financial benefits to our elderly population. Chris currently serves on the Putnam Board of Education and is a member of the Putnam Republican Town Committee. The son-in-law of Rep. Hayes, Chris is happily married to his wife, Lindsey, and together they are raising two young sons.
